Our Philosophy

At Bend & Blossom, we understand the importance of placing the physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing of mothers and infants above all others. The main focus of Nicole and the staff at Bend & Blossom is to provide better birthing options through advocacy, support, and evidence-based education. We proudly offer a multitude of educational classes, including many free lectures and events. Our Educators are passionate, highly trained and among the area’s
only specialized instructors. Only experienced Doulas and Educators will educate and support through trying to conceive, pregnancy, birth, into motherhood and beyond into toddlerhood and preschool. Our Doulas are not medical professionals and do not handle clinical tasks.

Bend & Blossom Doulas and Educators work cohesively with a client’s entire birth or postpartum team. Our Doulas and Educators are required to follow a scope of practice. Professionalism is Bend & Blossom’s number one priority.

Why Bend & Blossom

Families are choosing to prepare for their pregnancies, births, and postpartum time through Bend & Blossom classes and with our Doulas more than any other organization because they want MORE! Typically, those what are drawn to doulas are looking for a more natural approach to childbirth education and support, which is very important.

Typically, those what are drawn to doulas are looking for a more natural approach to childbirth education and support, which is very important. However, other organizations and individuals who offer the same type of classes and services often find themselves struggling between wanting to truly support the client’s needs and not having the flexibility, experience, and up-to-date education to accommodate this expectation and ultimately, this need amongst childbearing families.

Bend & Blossom is changing this for families. Through Bend & Blossom’s dedicated support and evidence-based classes and individualized services, families are fully supported.

Our Scope of Practice

A Doula, according to DONA, is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.

We aim to be a complete mind, body, and spirit support system for women throughout life, preconception, pregnancy, and birth into motherhood. By creating a solid foundation, which births healthy and happy babies, mindful and empowered, mothers and people too.

An Integrative Wellness Coach, defined by Duke University, empowers clients to make lasting behavior changes that are the foundation for a lifetime of health and wellbeing. Health is impacted by multiple interconnected dimensions, that include modern medicine and complement modern medicine. These dimensions include the choices one makes that affect their physical, mental, spiritual wellbeing and the medical care approaches utilized for their health. An Integrative Wellness Coach helps support their clients in discovering ways to successfully implement healthy lifestyle behaviors across these various dimensions into their unique lives.
