Meet the Team

Our Professionals

Our team is deeply rooted in the philosophy of yoga and the six pillars of wisdom, shape, and life that Bend & Blossom has been built on. Each one of our doulas, instructors, and placenta specialists is an expert in her field, is specially trained and continues to grow her skill set.

We aim to facilitate empowerment, connection, and self-advocacy in families throughout trying to conceive, fertility, pregnancy and postpartum.

At Bend & Blossom, we only hire experienced professionals who work with the whole body and the whole family to have the best experience. You can have the confidence that your doula or instructor is presenting unbiased, evidence-based information. Our doulas have no agenda other than yours. Of course, the journey is unpredictable but no matter what, you will be fully supported in every regard.

The Bend & Blossom Team

Amanda, R.N.

Postpartum Doula, Placenta Specialist, Lamaze Educator, Lactation Counselor

My journey to becoming a registered nurse began 15 years ago. I knew I always wanted to be a Labor and Delivery nurse, and I now have done so for 12 years.

I have attended countless numbers of births. Every birth has its own story and I have truly enjoyed being witness to each and every one of them. My own personal birth story began 5 years ago with the birth of my oldest daughter.

My 12 years as a labor and delivery/NICU/ postpartum nurse and certified lactation counselor has given me the training and knowledge I need. Now the position of Doula will give me the chance to have the time I need to make a clients birth more intimate and fully supported.

Anna

Labor Doula, Placenta Specialist

I am passionate about pregnancy and birth and want to help women achieve a satisfying and empowering birth experience. I completely believe that doulas should be a part in every birth.

I am married with three kids with very different birth experience for each of them. My son who is now fourteen was my inspiration and guide for this journey.

In 2011, I obtained training and certification (DONA) as a Certified Birth Doula, but I was helping my friends and family years before. I have a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science; before coming to the doula service, I worked as a Computer Analyst on Wall Street (LEH). Anna speaks Russian.

Lisa

Labor Doula, Breastfeeding Counselor

Lisa has been a DONA Certified Doula since 2008. She is also a certified WIC breastfeeding peer counselor and is certified in the use of the T.E.N.S. unit. Lisa is the mother of four wonderful children and each of them has a birth story as individual as they are.  Through their births, she learned the strength and ability of a woman. Being a doula is not something that she does, it is who she is. Lisa enjoys sharing her love and understanding of birthing a child with every family that she is blessed to work with.

“I believe birth is a process that our bodies are designed for. I believe that a woman’s chance of having her ideal birth increases with her understanding of this process and her having the right frame of mind. We must understand that each birth is as special and unique as the child itself.  The birth process becomes not so much what we ourselves can achieve, but bringing our child into this world in an uncomplicated and safe manner. There is no right or wrong way to have a child, It is your birth and every birth will tell its own story.”

Rosie

Prenatal Yoga Teacher, eRYT-500

Rosie has been teaching Prenatal Yoga to moms-to-be throughout Central and Northern NJ since 2010, and Postnatal Mom/Baby Yoga since 2012. After becoming a certified Hatha/Vinyasa yoga teacher in 2009, Rosie began to study yoga for pregnancy and continues to grow in this field. Completing her first 85-hour prenatal yoga training through Golden Bridge Yoga, with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa in the Khalsa Way modality, Rosie learned how meditation and yogic breath work could transform the fears of pregnancy into liberation and joy. Rosie then completed Pranakriya Prenatal Yoga 85-hour training with Jacci Grunninger, and learned how the physical practice of yoga can keep the ever-changing pregnant body fluid, comfortable and strong. In 2016, Rosie began her training as a Yoga Born Childbirth Educator with Abby Bordner, and learned how yoga postures and yogic breathing could benefit both mom and baby during labor and delivery, in addition to learning about postnatal recovery through yoga. This year, Rosie developed Bountiful Blessings Prenatal Yoga, whereby she utilizes all of the yogic tools she has acquired over the past 8 years. Rosie’s mission is to share yogic tools with expectant mothers from all walks of life that will help to bring ease to the body and mind during regular daily activities, during labor and delivery, and beyond.
